Cross Village Beach is one of the best places in the area to catch a Lake Michigan sunset!
Surrounded by nature and away from the crowds, Cross Village is the perfect place to experience the quieter side of Northern Michigan. Slow down, explore the Lake Michigan shoreline, take in the scenic beauty, and enjoy a peaceful escape from the busier destinations nearby.
Cross Village gets beautifully dark after sunset, with very few streetlights. Allow extra time when traveling at night and enjoy the incredible stargazing right outside your door. For an even more memorable experience, Headlands International Dark Sky Park is about a 35-minute drive away and is one of Michigan’s officially designated dark sky locations.
Restaurants and services are limited in Cross Village, especially in the evening, so plan ahead. Village Mart, directly across the street, offers homemade meals, groceries, fuel, beer, wine and essentials. Legs Inn is also just a short walk away. Stock up, settle in and enjoy the slower pace of Cross Village.
Cell service is very limited in Cross Village, so we recommend downloading maps, directions, and any important travel information before you arrive. Once you’re at Spirit Lake Retreat, you can stay connected with our fast, reliable fiber internet throughout the property.
