The name "Spirit Lake" pays homage to the native Odawa people, who first named this serene spot "Spirit Lake" before it was later renamed Wycamp Lake. The natural beauty of Cross Village inspires the atmosphere we hope to create for each guest—a place where you can unwind, reconnect with nature, and build memories with loved ones.  

Nestled at the top of the iconic Tunnel of Trees, our charming retreat is ideally located within walking distance to delightful eateries, unique shops, local breweries, and the historic Legs Inn. Conveniently located just 25 miles from Mackinac Island, Spirit Lake Retreat serves as the perfect home base for a memorable Mackinac Island day trip. We are also an ideal kid-friendly getaway for large groups, with the option to rent multiple units for family reunions and family vacations, gatherings, or a northern Michigan vacation with friends. 

At Spirit Lake Retreat, we encourage you to leave your keys in the unit and enjoy our inviting backyards, complete with fire pits, yard games, and plenty of space to spread out with your loved ones.
